So you want to be a model huh ? Let's explore the options, agency signed vs non agency signed ! Let the battle BEGIN ! So I'm sure by now almost everyone reading this article has watched Americas Next Top model, so with that being said I'm also sure we are all too familiar with one of the many perks a new coming model can get if she is successfully signed: a contract with Cover Girl Cosmetics. So you would think that based off that small tidbit of info, many new coming models would opt to be represented. Ideally, agency represented, but I'm here to tell you that definitely isn't one of the only ways you can make vertical moves in the modeling industry. Much of the success a model will make in the entertainment industry is conducive to the same success that a local business would make. Simply put, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION ! Traditionally most major cities are prime spots to be "discovered" why ? More opportunity, anytime you have a large influx of people you have a greater chance of being "discovered" however, you also have a much stiffer competition. Money also can play a significant factor, someone has to fund makeup artists, photographers, editors, wardrobe stylist, and so on. If your agency represented due to you being their "product", they will probably front your expenses to "produce" you. If your not represented, or independently wealthy be prepared to shell at some cash. Independence does offer more control to the model but in some cases, less opportunity as well. Many independent models are solely responsible for their own self promotion, traveling expenses, and so on. Often times represented models must sign exclusive contracts with the agency's they are signed to, including certain height/ weight restrictions. Although having the most control as an independent model can sound quite appealing keep in mind your responsible for everything including pulling wardrobe, getting your hair and makeup done, as well as minting the books for various shoots campaigns, etc. Either way independent or represented it is a possibility to become a staple in the fashion industry, much of it depends on your dedication and devotion to perfecting your craft. When deciding which route you will take always research every different avenue. You should know your limits before you go to visit an agency or book a shoot. Ask yourself relevant questions most supermodels have shot a nude of some sort, do you think you would be comfortable with this ? Could you handle the pressure fashion shows and the demands that go along with them ? How serious are you about modeling ? Look into finding reputable agencies and photographers, ask for a list of references. Hopefully this gives you a better idea of exactly what your venturing into :) thanks for reading !

When I say I'm super done with acrylic nails .... I really mean it, in the the worst way possible. They are SO bad for your nails... Regardless of if they are solar, overlays, they are pretty gosh darn bad... I guess all of that constant sanding and filing progressively weakens your nail bed until you don't have much of a nail ...then once you take them off your nails are weak and brittle and thin ! Basically, everything is sensitive to the touch ... Hot/cold so on and so forth.. Ehh I get the feeling I lost touch with myself, who says my nails need to be done for me to be a lady ? I can paint them and manicure them myself .... And for way less mula. So I'm officially retarded from fake nails, that and eyelash extensions ... I'm not even going to get started on that, that's a whole other discussion !

How in the world are you 40 years old still acting like a child ? I think I know quite a few of those... I guess it's called midlife crisis or something. I could of swore going around spreading rumors and saying "you can't associate with certain mutual people because I don't like them" was something that middle school children did ? That's so amazing to me.... I'm glad I know how to keep my mouth shut, cause if I were to actually say 99.9 % of what I really wanted to say ... ahhhh SHIT we'd have some upset people that's for sure ! So this is what's on the plate ! Currently I'm preparing to launch Nefertiti Makeup Artists which is a collaboration of talented Makeup Artist whom provide helpful tips and tricks for all of your beauty and makeup needs. We will do product reviews tutorials so on and so forth. I'm still currently writing for Slife Magazine and I should have some need material coming out soon. As it starts to heat up more outside I'm getting ready to start shooting again ! So I'm excited about that. This past couple of months I finally got alot of stuff I've been needing to take care of out of the way, I'm super excited about that. I'll actually have more time to take care of all the things I actually want to do ! What more can I say .... God is good. That's enough rambling for now though....Catch Ya Later

Ha .... I gotta laugh at the different things that have transpired thus far in the universe of semi modeling.. It's pretty funny. I had to jog my memory back to my very first video shoot. Grade A material..So I forget how I found out about the shoot, I believe I got an email, anyways showed up to the casting and found out the name of the video was "Ask Them HOES" .. needless to say ...I was shocked ! Ask them HOES ??? Umm ..... Ok.... regardless I went ahead and stayed around for the shoot. It was pretty tight the crew was real official...cameras, a makeup artist..a director ....blah blah blah ..I got a couple of appearances but the ish is pretty funny ..check it out ..

Clearly .. I was supposed to post something like 1 million years ago ..but I've been preoccupied wrecking havoc falling in love, back outta love ... and well .. Just living ..So moving forward a couple of weeks back I got the privilege of working with recording R@B artist Dehz, Polar Bear Ent, and Jazzy Entertainment(hopefully I got everyone) WOW ... what an experience. It was my very first video shoot being the make up artist ... heck I've done more than a few photo-shoots and beat a few faces but... a MUSIC VIDEO ? Man ... I could of screamed ! I LOVED IT ! I met so many different people doing so many different things. All I can say is .... EVERYBODY was about their business.. you could tell from the atmosphere that alot of time, effort, and dedication went into the production of the music video "Sedated". It was refreshing to be put on a time schedule and told that things needed to be handled efficiently and effectively ...IDK... I'm thinking ... I'm really liking this industry and what it has to offer.. Yea nothing is guaranteed ..but shid...when you want something bad enough .. yo'll do almost ANYTHING to get it ... In any event .. here is the music video for all to see.... I did the featured models make up .. I'm really proud of myself .. and confident that I'll more opportunities to get my shine on..aka artsy craziness .. yup ... That's me .. in any event .. Muhahaha ...Till Next Time :0p

11.5.10 Watching the Time Machine

Life is amazing... sometimes it leaves you breathless and speechless... sometimes it give you the greatest joy you've every felt ... but life is far from boring. I'm just reviewing an email that I received from the magazine that I was recently recruited to write for.. I'm impressed. Myself and 1 other writer actually got kudos for having the most hits on our articles we submitted. Yup ! We did that ish and that is Ahh real good look for me .. I was wondering how things would turn out for my first time submitting to a magazine. I even had a few doubts that my content might not get published .. but for it to not only get published and get numerous hits ... I'm overjoyed ! So I have roughly a little less than a month until I have to submit my next article. Ha... I'm just thinking what in the world am I going to write about ?? I'm clueless .. But I know my inspiration will come soon enough. Either way, enough with the rambling ... and in case you were wanting to read my article you can check it out here... Bahahaha My lifes ambition has never been to be some dimwitted tragically beautiful woman with no witts about her... no substance .. and completely nothing between my ears ... I'm just glad I'm finally getting to voice my opinion on a much larger scale ... 10.23.10 When Opportunity Knocks

So I've had my fair share of thoughts about modeling and exactly what route I wanted to pursue with it. Of course I take quite a few sexy pictures but I also have a variety of other types of pictures I take as well... I must admit though .. being scantily clad is the most fun.... but it's also the most demeaning .. it just depends on which way you look at it. Most things in life will have there pros and there cons. Things that will be worth it with rewards ... but things that will also render great consequence. I guess you just have to weigh your options. One new opportunity that I've recently encountered has made my day ! I was contacted to write for a magazine ... specifically the entertainment section ... I'm looking forward to that .. Who wouldn't ..??? It's a real GOOD look and an outlet for me to voice my opinion ... which I do often .... So... YUH ! I'm super content about that right there !
